Bacigalupi Vineyards | 2015 Fondare

Winemaker Notes
2015 was a very dry year here in Sonoma County. Because the water levels were so low, the crop was very small, with tiny clusters and concentrated flavors.

Production Notes
This wine is a blend of 50% Zinfandel and 50% Petite Sirah.  The grapes for this wine were picked separately and hand sorted in the vineyard and again in the winery.  The wines remained separate for 23 months and were blended just before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Tasting Notes
Produced in honor of our family patriarch,Charles Baciglaupi.
Welcoming aromas of black currant, mocha, and juicy Japanese black plums commingle with traces of white pepper.  The palate is luscious, flavors of boysenberries, cocoa powder and subtle baking spices appear. With long ingrained tannins the finish seems to go on forever. Drink now or cellar 4-7 years.
